Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy

1. Who we are
Lake Como Boat Experience is operated by D'Agnolo Paolo, sole trader, Via Romualdo Caprani 10, 22100 Como (CO), Italy — Italian VAT number (P.IVA) 04060970136. You can reach us at info@lakecomoboatexperience.com or on WhatsApp at +39 392 855 8517. Booking through this website means entering into a contract with us under these terms.
2. The service
We provide private boat tours and boat hire with skipper on Lake Como aboard the Cranchi Turchese 24, for a maximum of 6 guests per departure. Itineraries described on this site are indicative: your skipper may adapt the route, the swimming stop or the schedule at any time for safety, weather or lake-traffic reasons, keeping the spirit and duration of the experience.
3. Prices and what they include
All prices are per boat, not per person, and include VAT. Unless the experience page says otherwise, the price includes your skipper, fuel, prosecco, bottled water and ice, and the swim stop. Anything purchased ashore (restaurants, villa tickets, ferries) is not included. The price you see at checkout is the total price of your booking.
4. Booking and payment
- A booking is confirmed when you pay the 30% deposit online (payments are processed by SumUp; we never see your card details). You receive a confirmation email with your booking reference.
- The balance is paid on the day of the tour, by card or cash.
- If the deposit payment is not completed, the time slot is held only for a few minutes and is then released automatically — no contract is formed.
5. Cancellation by you
- Up to 7 days before the departure date: you may cancel for any reason, free of charge, with a full refund of your deposit.
- Less than 7 days before the departure date: the deposit is not refundable. The balance is of course never charged.
- Bad weather: if the weather makes the trip unsafe or unenjoyable, you can cancel free of charge up to the day before departure, with a full refund of the deposit — whatever the notice. The skipper's assessment of safety, based on official forecasts and lake conditions, is final; when conditions are borderline we will always propose a free rescheduling first.
- You can cancel online at lakecomoboatexperience.com/cancel using your booking reference and email, or by writing to us on WhatsApp or by email.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 7 business days of the cancellation.
6. Rescheduling
More than 7 days before departure you may move your booking to another available date free of charge, once. Closer to the date we will still do our best to find you an alternative slot, subject to availability.
7. Cancellation by us
If we must cancel your tour — for safety, mechanical failure, or the skipper's unavailability — you choose between a full refund of everything you paid or priority rebooking on a date of your choice. In every case our liability is limited to the amounts you actually paid us; we are not responsible for other costs (such as travel or accommodation) connected to the tour.
8. No-show and delays
Please be at the agreed boarding point at the agreed time. Time lost to late arrival counts as time on the water; if you are more than 30 minutes late without notice, the booking may be treated as a no-show and the deposit retained. Message us on WhatsApp if you are running late — when the schedule allows it, we are flexible.
9. Statutory right of withdrawal
Under art. 59(1)(n) of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005, implementing EU Directive 2011/83), the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date — which is the case for our tours. In its place, we grant you the contractual cancellation rights described in section 5, which apply from the moment of booking.
10. On board
- The skipper is in command of the boat: their instructions on safety must be followed, and they may refuse or interrupt the service, without refund, in case of dangerous behaviour or conditions caused by a guest.
- Safety equipment compliant with Italian law is provided aboard for all guests.
- The maximum capacity of 6 guests includes children. Tell us the ages of any children when booking, so the right life jackets are on board.
- Swimming during the stops is at each guest's discretion, only when and where the skipper allows it.
- Each guest remains responsible for their own personal belongings.
11. Insurance and liability
The boat is covered by the third-party liability insurance required by Italian law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including for consumers' statutory rights.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you always keep the protections granted by the mandatory rules of your country of residence, and any dispute is heard by the courts competent under applicable consumer-protection law. Most things, though, are solved with a message: write to us first, and we will make it right.
